How to use Ws_ftp

Go
to “Start”, “Programs”, “Ws_ftp” and click on “WSFTP95 LE”
·
It
will take you to a window that says “Profile Name: ipswitch”, “Host name/
Address: etc., etc.”

Click
on “New” on the right side of the small window on the screen.
·
Where
it says Profile Name: File Server.
·
Host
Name/Address: fsm.madison.sandi.net
·
Host
Type: Automatic Detect
·
User
ID: (your file server username goes here)
·
Password:
(your password)
·
Account:
(leave blank)
·
Then
click on okay.
·
The
first time you login via FTP it will ask you to enter your password again.
Remember this:
q
On
the right side of the window is the FTP server.
q
On
the left side of the window is your computer.
q
Browse
by double clicking where you want to access.
q
If
you would like to go up or back a folder, do that by clicking on the green
arrow at the top of whatever window your in.
Download:
to get a file from another computer to your computer.
Upload:
to send a file to a computer.
To
transfer files click on the file that you want to transfer, (note:make sure you
are in your file server folder on the right side.) and click on the arrow
pointing to the direction in which you would like it to go. For Example. You have a file called grades.doc on your computer. You would like to transfer it to the file
server. You open up the file server and
get into your folder. You find the file
on your computer, click on grades.doc and then click on the arrow pointing to
the right
