Welcome to Madison High School, home of the Warhawks. The superb Madison staff accepts the challenge of providing an educational climate that will produce well- rounded citizens prepared for the 21 st century. You will see some new and improved physical changes to the facilities this year. We are especially proud of the state-of-the art Performing Arts Center. Madison High provides a strong academic program with many extracurricular activities for students to get involved in.

It is an honor for me to have been appointed principal of Madison High School effective August 22, 2006. My background includes 30 years of combined experience as a teacher, counselor, head counselor, vice-principal, principal at Montgomery Middle School, principal at San Diego High School, and central office administrator. As principal it is my privilege to work with you to see that your students receive a quality education which will give them many options from which to choose upon completion, graduating from Madison. Strong emphasis will be placed upon passing the California High School exam (CAHSEE), one of the diploma requirements.

It is my intent to provide leadership to this school that focuses on student achievement and success. I believe in an educational environment that fosters cooperation among parents, students, staff and teachers. I will have high expectations for our Madison students, valuing the importance of providing support throughout our academic program. Parent involvement is the hallmark of any school’s success. The 2006-2007 school year is my fourth year at Madison. I have a varied background of military service, teaching, and private sector employment. Madison has a rich heritage and is embarking on a number of new ventures that will only add to and enrich the legend. I consider myself very fortunate to be working at such a fine school with such an excellent staff and great student body. I look forward to helping our students prepare to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
